Reminder: You are Strong!

What a year we have been navigating through! Each passing day I am reminded of how little control I have over the future. This is not to say that I have lost hope, or that you should. Instead, I have realized the great power that I have in the current moment. I see now that the current moment is where we should focus most of our efforts on.

Even before COVID-19, we are used to living a fast-paced life and worrying more about the future than the day we are currently living in.

Yet, you add in a worldwide pandemic to the mix, and you realize just how tough it is to be truly present in the moment. We are now bombarded with facts, statistics, fears, and the unknown; All of which centers our worries around the future.

We wonder: What will happen next?

I have found great peace this past weekend by spending time in the outdoors, deleting my social media apps for a set period of time, practicing restorative yoga, and by writing and journaling.

Taking this time for myself, which is the first time I have truly done so in months, made me feel centered and grounded. I almost feel repurposed; Like someone pushed a reset button on my soul.

Tomorrow will take care of itself and bring enough worries for the day. Today, my challenge for you is to be present and to cherish this moment.

Show gratitude for what you do have, rather than what you are lacking. In many ways, it is easy for us to see what is missing from our lives at the present moment. Yet, living from a place of absence will not bring you quietude.

Instead, see the abundance that you have today.

Remember: You are strong. You have what it takes to navigate the future ahead. In the meantime, find your slice of joy today.
