As a middle school Assistant Principal years ago, I worked to create a Positive Office Referral template that really took off in our school. Calling parents with kiddos is a free and instant burst of joy for students, families, and for yourself!!!
Yet, as an Elementary Principal, I wanted to pivot a bit and create a new template that would positively reflect our new school mission and vision. To do this, we just began a new tradition at our school that we are calling the “Good News Calls of the Day!” This has taken off on Twitter in recent years–and I wanted to take it and run with this!
Within the Good News Call of the Day template you see above, that I created it on Canva (got to love Canva), I wanted to ensure that our new mission words were embedded into the template. My hope is for teachers and staff to circle the mission words the kiddo was showcasing in their actions, while writing a small blurb to describe exactly what the kiddo did so we can specifically celebrate it.
Today, I made our first Good News Call of the day from a teacher nomination! It made my day more than words can say, so I had to share. See below!
